LRT Guidelines and Expectations
-
Once a match is made, you may start communication with your tutor. Feel free to start off by sending an email or making a phone call to introduce yourself.
-
Once communication has been facilitated, you may begin discussion to schedule the first tutoring session. A weekly tutoring schedule should be established between you and your tutor. Please also discuss which online conferencing platform (Zoom, Google Meets, or Skype) will be used to conduct tutoring sessions.
-
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to stay in the room during tutoring sessions.
-
Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the virtual meeting platform before your first tutoring session.
-
Each tutoring session should be at least 20 minutes and no more than 2 hours.
-
If canceling or rescheduling a session, give the other party at least 24 hours notice by email or text. Informing Living Room Tutors is not necessary.
-
No recording of tutoring sessions unless agreed to by all parties on the call.
-
When possible, make sure to lock the conference call after both parties are on the call. This will prevent others from joining your conference uninvited.
